N. Gunter Guy, Jr. joins the Bentley Administration as a former attorney with the Montgomery-based law firm Ball, Ball, Mathews & Novak, P.A. There he was engaged in a governmental entity and general civil defense litigation practice.

Prior to his appointment, Guy had been engaged in the private practice of law since 1982. From 1983 to 1999, he served as the City Attorney for the City of Montgomery, Alabama.

Guy graduated from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in Finance.

Guy, as Commissioner, advises the Governor and Legislature on management of freshwater fish, wildlife, marine resources, waterway safety, state lands, state parks, and other natural resources.

Guy and his family live in Pintlala, Alabama.
